Donations

Your donations help to support the programs of Global Strategies for HIV Prevention. We are a highly focused not for profit organization working in partnership with faith-based and nongovernmental organizations to accomplish our mission.  We provide assistance only to programs that are deemed accountable and trustworthy.  We do not provide funds to government programs. 

Global Strategies for HIV Prevention is a non-profit organization which is classified by the IRS as exempt under IRC Section 501(c)3 and is a public charity under IRC section 509. All donations are tax exempt and will be acknowledged with receipts. In addition to cash, donors may make gifts of publicly traded securities.

Examples Of What Your Donations Can Do

A $25 donation will:

  • Provide a years supply of the antibiotic cotrimoxazole to extend the life of 4 HIV children or mothers and help to prevent malaria and secondary infections or
  • Print and distribute 25 training manuals on HIV prevention and care to health care workers

A $50 donation will:

  • Purchase HIV test kits to test 25 pregnant women for HIV or
  • Purchase 2 post exposure prophylaxis kits to protect victims of rape and health care workers from HIV infection

A $100 donation will:

  • Provide for combination antiretroviral drugs for a pregnant woman to reduce HIV transmission to less than 5% or
  • Provide for supplemental food for one year for a malnourished HIV infected child receiving treatment

A $250 donation will:

  • Adopt a Health Care Worker or
  • Provide antiretroviral treatment to two HIV infected mothers to prevent HIV infection of their infants or
  • Treat 2 HIV uninfected children for one year

Orphan and vulnerable children - education and care:

  • $200 provides a daily meal for 5 orphans for one year
  • $300 provides for school fees, uniforms and a daily meal for 1 year
  • $900 to $2,000 pays a school teacher for 1 year
