Global Strategies for HIV Prevention

A Decade of Donors

As we enter our next decade of providing HIV prevention and care for women and children throughout the world, we reflect on those who have provided support to make our endeavors possible. Through partnership with community and faith-based organizations, and through donations from individuals, foundations, organizations, and churches we have met some of the needs of tens of thousands affected by the epidemic.

These donations have supported our programs: Save a Life to prevent HIV infection of infants, Hope Walks to provide for the orphans and vulnerable children of the HIV epidemic and to support Education and Training programs with our partners.

As we leave 2008 and enter 2009, we want to acknowledge the generous donations of so many.  At the outset, we want to acknowledge the intentionality of our donors who give in all amounts representing a commitment to having an impact on HIV prevention and care. We recall two young boys who, after hearing a presentation on preventing mother to child transmission, realized that their 300 pennies were enough to treat two HIV-infected mothers to prevent infection of their infants. They like many others, represent the commitment that so many of you have. There are also many of you who have donated on a regular basis, providing us and our partners with the security of regular donations.

We are specifically grateful to the following donations by individuals and organizations to our programs:
