Global Strategies is pleased to announce Dr. Elizabeth Rogers as its new Board Chair. Colin Boyle will serve as Treasurer, and Nicole Rubin will transition from Board Chair to Secretary.
Dr. Elizabeth Rogers is an Associate Professor of Pediatrics at the University of California, San Francisco, where she practices neonatology in the Intensive Care Nursery (ICN). She serves as Director of the ROOTS Program, The Grove Small Baby Unit, and the ICN Follow Up Program at UCSF.
Dr. Rogers has dedicated her career to caring for preterm newborns and their families. As a neonatologist at UCSF, she has spent years as a physician in the Intensive Care Nursery, leading programs focused on supporting small and medically fragile babies from their earliest days through long-term follow-up.
Her work has focused on helping families navigate the hardest moments around very early birth, protecting the developing brain, and supporting children as they grow after critical illness. She has also helped lead efforts to improve how neonatal care is delivered across hospitals, bringing together clinical teams to learn from one another and improve outcomes for babies and families.
Dr. Rogers earned her AB from Harvard University, her medical degree from Stanford University, and completed pediatric and neonatal-perinatal subspecialty training at UCSF.
“As a neonatologist, I have seen how critical timely, evidence-based decisions are for vulnerable newborns and their families, and I am passionate about ensuring all families have equitable opportunity to access good, respectful care, particularly at the very start of life. Global Strategies translates science into practical tools that empower frontline providers. As Board Chair, I am committed to strengthening our foundations and partnerships while expanding our reach and impact - ensuring that more healthcare workers can access the support they need to improve outcomes across the lifespan.”
This leadership transition reflects the Board’s ongoing commitment to shared leadership and continuity as Global Strategies advances its core mission of expanding access to high-quality care for mothers, newborns, and children in under-resourced settings.
